As the U.S. celebrates Thanksgiving on Thursday, Amazon announced a one-time bonus of more than $500 million to reward employees who have stayed at their jobs through the outbreak and the holiday season.

Amazon said its us operations staff, who started on December 1 and solstice on December 31, will receive a $300 bonus and part-time staff will receive $150.

It's worth noting that this Year's Thanksgiving holiday is particularly special. As the epidemic has spread, Americans have been going out much less, and online "hand-chopping" has replaced the shopping frenzy of the past.

Amazon was already hiring ahead of the shopping season to cope with the surge in orders.

Amazon announced at the end of October that it would hire 100,000 seasonal workers to prepare for the coming shopping season.
